We have developed resources to help build mom power for the September 20th Youth Climate Strike. In addition to building broad participation for it, we also hope to leverage this global moment to reach out to new moms/parents, galvanize and invite them to join our movement.
In the next few weeks, leading up to September 20th, can you reach out to new moms and others to respond to young people's call to action? Here is what you can do:
- Attend the Boston Youth Climate Strike and bring 3 moms along. RSVP HERE if you plan to go to Boston.
- Use the Mothers Out Front Youth Climate Strike Organizing Toolkitto host a teach-in/group conversations with new moms in your communities. The toolkit provides interactive opportunities to engage new moms and others about why young people are striking and how anyone can take action. You can access the toolkit from our website by Clicking here. You can also access the google documents by Clicking here.
- Wear Climate Conversation Starter Buttons. This week, each community team should receive "Care about kids and climate? Let's talk" buttons to help you generate conversations with moms/parents at the bus stop, back-to-school functions, playgrounds, and anywhere you interact with parents.
We hope the urgency in young people's voices and the resources we have put together to support them, inspire you to engage new moms/parents and others in your communities.
Email Etel Haxhiaj, MA Community Organizer,atEtel.Haxhiaj@mothersoutfront.org, if you need support accessing any of the resources.
Thank you for all you do!
