Transportation Survey For Bedford Residents

TRANSPORTATION SURVEY FOR BEDFORD RESIDENTS
Mothers Out Front has identified transportation as one of its goals for 2020.  This is a new initiative for the Bedford Team, so our goal for 2020 is to educate ourselves about current initiatives and policies that affect transportation, both here in Bedford and regionally, in order to make informed recommendations for 1-3 specific projects in 2021 that are achievable and equitable.  This year we see our role as learners, listeners, collaborators, and communicators.  As part of that collaboration, Mothers Out Front would like to encourage you to complete the Transportation Survey described below if you have not done so already.

Bedford, Lexington, and Waltham are members of the 128 Business Council, a non-profit transportation management association that has designed a transportation survey to gather commuting data for people that travel to, from, or within Bedford.  The Town of Bedford is participating in this survey with Lexington and Waltham..  By participating in this survey, you will be helping to build a better data set to plan for more successful transit improvements in our area.

The purpose of this survey is to gather specific point-to-point trip data (i.e. from one specific address to another) about the places you go most frequently. All of the individual origin-destination pairs will then be aggregated to build a mode-specific real trip heat map of these communities. For a transit service to be successful, there must be a sufficient number of riders starting and ending their trips along the same route. This might seem obvious, but most transportation surveys do not gather data at this level of specificity. Instead, town planners have to make inferences from more general preference information, supplemented by anecdotal request

Please fill out this online survey by the end of February to help better evaluate transit potential and needs for Bedford.    Ten (10) survey participants will win a $50 Amazon gift card.  Follow the link below to participate:
