Our Gas Leaks Legislative Briefing at the State House (10/31) drew a great audience of senators, representatives, and their staff.
Zeyneb Magavi, Research Lead and Coordinator of Cambridge Mothers Out Front, presented the outcomes of our study to identify the biggest gas leaks.
With our allies Audrey Schulman of HEET, Dr. Nathan Phillips of Boston University, and Joel Wool of Clean Water Action, we shared our action plan that we submitted to the Department of Public Utilities and why we need the Consumer Cost Protection bill to make sure the gas companies follow through on our agreement, not to mention to keep us from having to pay for leaking gas!
L to R: Nathan Phillips (BU), Zeyneb Magavi (Mothers Out Front), Sen. Jamie Eldridge (Acton), Rep. Christine Barber (Somerville), Audrey Schulman (HEET), Rep. Mary Keefe (Worcester), Rep. Paul Tucker (Salem), Joel Wool (Clean Water Action).
Thank you to Debbie New for this update from the Gas Leaks team!
