Environmental Justice Day of Action in Boston
On June 4th we are headed to two hearings to let our lawmakers and policymakers know we stand for environmental justice. Impacted communities must be considered in the siting of all dirty energy infrastructure. We will support the frontline communities in testifying at a hearing of the Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture Joint Committee (ENRA) on the impacts of being left out of the decisions that affect the health of their children and communities. And we will support Fore River Residents Against the Compressor (FRRACS) at the Wetlands permit review.
We will shirt up and show up for all children's future!
If you would like to attend the ENRA hearings (HEARING ROOM A-2, State House) plan to be there before 1pm to be sure that you can get in.
You can attend the Weymouth wetlands permit review hearing at the Department of Environmental Protection (1 Winter St.) at 1pm or after.
If you can only come later than 1pm, please come anyway! You can go to the DEP, where proceedings will likely go on until 5pm.
Please note in the comments field whether you're going to the State House or the Department of Environmental Protection.
[NOTE: Originally there was an action planned for noon at the Governor's office. That has been cancelled. More on Weymouth actions soon].
