Gas Leaks & Climate Forum
Please join Mothers Out Front Worcester and 350 Central MA for an urgent conversation on gas leaks and climate change in our city.
This event is wheelchair accessible and offers free childcare.
Worcester has over 800 methane gas leaks, some on school properties and in other sensitive locations. Join us to learn about the hazards these leaks pose to our children, environment, and health.
After months of research and an audit of gas leaks in close range of a number of our public schools, we are organizing this urgent public conversation to galvanize our community to take local action on the serious threats posed by aging gas infrastructure and climate change. These issues pose significant environmental justice concerns for people of color, low-income, and immigrant communities in the city, and for our city as a whole.
Mothers have a unique stake in this issue—the wellbeing of our children and future generations depends on it! Mothers Out Front Worcester is harnessing the urgency of this moment and our deep care for our children to band together for meaningful change in our community.
Together with community partners, we will explore what actions we can take as a community and as individuals to reduce the harm caused by aging gas infrastructure and leaks to ensure a healthier, greener future for our kids and the community at large.
Featuring speakers from Gas Safety USA, Mass Energy Consumer Alliance, the Worcester Tree Initiative, and more.
