On November 12th, from 1:00pm-5:00pm, the FUTURE Act will be heard by the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy (TUE) at the State House in Gardener Auditorium.

The FUTURE Act is a bill that Mothers Out Front members helped forge out of years of work on gas leaks and health impacts of gas. It is about triage and transition:
- Triage: addressing the current issues of the gas system (safety, coordination with municipalities, repairing leaks instead of replacing pipes, holding gas companies accountable)
- Transition: Transitioning gas companies to renewable thermal

This is our bill! Put on your Mothers Out Front T-shirt and join us at the State House's Gardner Auditorium. We need to show the TUE that Mothers and our allies want this bill to pass this session. Let's pack the auditorium! Bring a friend!
The starting time is 1:00 pm but plan on coming earlier to get a seat. There will be multiple gas bills discussed; so stay all afternoon if you can, but attending any part of the hearing will be helpful.
Written Testimony
Please write your story about why you want to get off natural gas. It could be very short. Click here for samples. We'll submit your story and a photo of your loved ones as part of our collective written testimony on the day of the hearing. Send a paragraph about why you personally feel strongly about these issues and include a photograph of the important children in your life by Sunday, November 10th to gasisthepast@yahoo.com.
