Mothers Out Front is teaming up with local residents and organizations like GreenRoots, Sierra Club and Better Future Project, to put a spotlight immigrant, worker, and climate justice in East Boston.
GreenRoots is leading a campaign against the construction of an Eversource electric substation on the banks of Chelsea Creek, right next to 8 million gallons of jet fuel in an area projected to flood due to sea level rise.
On September 8th we will RISE with East Boston residents meeting at 143 Porter St in East Boston. Organizations will host a family-friendly rally and teach in to build solidarity and draw attention to the environmental racism that causes communities like East Boston to bear the biggest burdens for all our energy use.
Please Shirt Up and Show up between 12 and 4 pm on September 8th, and Tweet using the hashtags #MothersOutFrontRise #WhyWeRise #RISEBoston
“Children and families in coastal communities like East Boston are most impacted by increased sea level rise and severe storms. I RISE for my children and all children in Massachusetts. RISE with us! tinyurl.com/BosRISE4CJJ #MothersOutFront #WhyWeRise #RISEBoston”
After you RSVP with us, please RSVP with Better Future Project!

RISE to envision & build a JUST TRANSITION in Massachusetts:
FROM dirty coal, oil, & gas TO clean wind & solar power. FROM prisons & deportations TO freedom & sanctuary. FROM worker abuse TO safe, green, family-sustaining union jobs. FROM gentrification & displacement TO affordable housing & transit. FROM corporate control TO community control. FROM polluted air, water, & soil TO healthy people & planet. FROM extraction & exploitation TO economic & environmental justice.
