Use Less, Green the Rest

Our purpose: Develop and lead a coordinated state-wide campaign concluding in 2018 to advance energy efficiency and speed up development of renewably-sourced energy through an increased RPS in our Commonwealth.

Renewable Portfolio Standard

One of the most important tools we have to fight climate change is the Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS). This state law requires utilities to phase out their use of fossil fuels and replace them, year by year, with renewable energy sources.

As the law is currently written, utilities must increase their use of renewable energy sources at the rate of 1% per year. That's way too slow for the children we love!

The time to do this is now!  The public hearing on the Renewable Portfolio Standard takes place before the Legislature’s Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy (TUE) Committee on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 1pm to 5pm at the State House. 

Before the September 19 hearing, we ask you to take these steps:
